Florian Schroeder

Florian Schroeder (born 12 September 1979 in Lörrach) is a German Kabarettist, author, columnist, radio and television presenter. He grew up in Lörrach. At the age of 14 he had his first short appearance in Harald Schmidt's television show Schmidteinander (episode 30 on 24 October 1993), in which he parodied celebrities. After his Abitur at the Kaufmännische Schule in Lörrach he did his civilian service at the patient radio of the Uniklinik Freiburg. There he also began his studies of German philology and philosophy and moved to Berlin in 2006, where he lives today in the district of Prenzlauer Berg. After his school years he toured for three years with the Kabarett ensemble "Heinz!", an homage to Heinz Erhardt.

Schroeder is known for his broad repertoire of celebrity imitations, which he caricatures on radio and television in a mix of political satire and comedy. He debuted with his first own Kabarett program Auf Ochsentour in November 2004. Since 2004 he has appeared at the turn of the year in a duo with Volkmar Staub for a "kabarettistischer Jahresrückblick". In 2007 the pilot of his late-night Kabarett show Schroeder! aired on SWR Fernsehen, becoming a permanent part of the program in 2008. From January 2012 to 2014 he had his own radio comedy on 1 Live every Saturday, called Schroeders Netzwerk.

Since May 2014 he has hosted Spätschicht - Die Comedy Bühne on SWR Fernsehen. In July 2017 he went on a kabarettistische tour through Germany with Peer Steinbrück. Since 2015 he has hosted Die große radioeins Satireshow and since 2016 Die hr1 Satire Lounge, both of which now run under the name Die Florian Schroeder Satire Show in ARD programs. His appearance on 8 August 2020 at an anti-Corona demonstration in Stuttgart drew much attention: invited because the organizers had misunderstood a satirical NDR piece of his on conspiracy theories as a supposed revelation of facts, he initially played with the audience's expectations and used the appearance for an appeal to observe the protective measures against COVID-19. Since September 2020 he has presented the podcast "Schroeder & Somuncu" together with the Kabarettist Serdar Somuncu on the station Radio Eins.
