Negah Amiri

Negah Amiri (born 7. September 1993 in Iran) is a German stand-up comedienne and presenter. She was awarded the Deutscher Comedypreis in 2023 as best newcomer. She first grew up in Sari in the Iranian province of Mazandaran. At the age of eleven she moved with her mother and her four-years-older brother from Iran to Germany. She first lived in Wiesbaden, where she completed her Abitur. She then studied Angewandte Medien and Media Acting in Frankfurt-Niederrad with the goal of becoming a television presenter. She began a traineeship at Radio Frankfurt and afterwards presented programmes at Antenne Bad Kreuznach, but ended her activity as a radio presenter.

After her move to Germany she had experienced racism and bullying as a schoolgirl because of the similarity of her first name to the word Neger, which she later processed in her comedy shows. She first used social media channels and then had appearances on television programmes such as NightWash and the Faisal-Kawusi-Show. Since November 2025 Negah Amiri has been touring with her solo stand-up programme SCHÖN LAUT. She also regularly publishes content on her YouTube channel in cooperation with MySpass. In April 2021 she started the podcast Cringe Potenzial with Paul Wolter, and from the end of 2021 the Hessischer Rundfunk produced the weekly television show upDATE mit Negah Amiri, which she presented. She lives in Köln.

Her television appearances include NightWash (2019, Sat.1), the Faisal Kawusi Show (2020, Sat.1), Die Anstalt (2022, ZDF) and ZDF Comedy Sommer. As a presenter she worked on upDATE mit Negah Amiri (2021, hr), Never Ever (2023, WDR) and Ladies Night Youngstars (2024-2025, WDR). In 2022 she received the Mindener Stichling, and in 2023 the Deutscher Comedypreis as Beste Newcomerin. In 2021 she published the book Was Frauen denken, aber nicht sagen.
