About Nicole Jäger
Nicole Jäger grew up in Hamburg-Eimsbüttel and came to comedy by a side door. She first made her name as a weight-loss coach, and her book Die Fettlöserin, published by Rowohlt, sold more than 100,000 copies. In January 2016 she went on tour with her first stage programme, Ich darf das, ich bin selber dick, a title that claims the right to joke about weight for herself.
The programmes that followed are Nicht direkt perfekt, named after her book about womanhood, Prinzessin Arschloch, Walküre, which premiered at the Berlin theatre Die Wühlmäuse, and Grande Dame. Her evenings mix straight comedy with serious and emotional passages. RTL recorded Nicht direkt perfekt, Comedy Central aired the special Comedy Central presents Nicole Jäger, and 3sat broadcast shortened versions of Prinzessin Arschloch and Walküre as part of its festival.
Television comedy line-ups book her often, among them the ZDF Comedy Sommer, the Quatsch Comedy Club, the NDR Comedy Club, Olafs Klub and Till Reiners' Happy Hour, and she has sat on panel shows such as Genial daneben. She won the Smyle Award for best artist in 2020 and the jury prize of the Tegtmeiers Erben competition in 2023, and since 2021 she has made the podcast Ponyhof und Mittelfinger with Philina Herrmann.
