About Özcan Coşar

Ozcan Cosar (full name: Ozcan Cosar) is a German stand-up comedian born in 1981 in Bad Cannstatt, Stuttgart, to Turkish parents who emigrated from the Samsun region in the 1970s. He is one of the leading voices of Turkish-German comedy in the country, building a career that spans live solo shows, television hosting, and podcasting. Before turning to comedy, he was a competitive breakdancer who won the German B-Boy championship in 2000.

Ozcan Cosar launched his stand-up career with his first solo show "Adam & Erdal - Der Unzertrennliche" in early 2012, followed by "Du hast dich voll verandert" (premiering March 5, 2015), "Old School - Die Zukunft kann warten" (premiering September 20, 2017, before a sold-out Theaterhaus Stuttgart), and "Cosar Nostra - Organisierte Comedy" (previewing November 25, 2019). From 2013 to 2016 he was a permanent ensemble member of the touring stand-up collective RebellComedy. In November 2020 he launched his own SWR late-night show "Die Cosar Show." He co-hosts the weekly podcast "Bratwurst and Baklava" with comedian and author Bastian Bielendorfer - a show that highlights the comedy of Turkish-German coexistence. His material draws on family dynamics, integration, and the daily life of a second-generation migrant in Germany.

Ozcan Cosar is currently on tour with his show "VIP," running from 2026 through at least late 2027 across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland - including dates at venues such as SAP Arena Mannheim and major city theatres. Clips from his live shows are regularly posted to his YouTube channel.
