Sebastian Rabsahl

Sebastian 23, in real life Sebastian Rabsahl (born 23. März 1979 in Duisburg), is a German Slampoet, book author and comedian. Rabsahl studied Philosophie (Magister) in Freiburg. In 2000 he began to perform on poetry-slam stages in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, before he won the master title in the individual competition at the German-language Poetry-Slam-Meisterschaften in Zürich in 2008.

Rabsahl was seen on comedy and cabaret stages, in mixed shows and in television programmes such as TV total, the WDR Poetry Slam and the NDR Talkshow. He moderates poetry slams in Bochum, Oberhausen, Dortmund and Herne, and was also a member of the literary-performative boygroup Smaat, to which Gabriel Vetter, Felix Römer and Lars Ruppel also belonged; it was dissolved on 28. Januar 2011 in Gießen. He founded, with Misha Verollet, Sulaiman Masomi and Andy Strauß, the Lesebühne LMBN, which takes place in the Dortmunder Fritz-Henßler-Haus. He is married to the actress Friederike Becht and is the father of two children.

His programmes include Gude Laune hier! (2008), Dem Schicksal ein Schnittchen schmieren (2011), Endlich erfolglos (2018) and Maskenball (2023). Among his many awards are the Bochumer Kleinkunstpreis (2006), the St. Ingberter Pfanne (2008), the title of Vizeweltmeister at the Slam-Weltmeisterschaften in Paris (2008), the win in the individual German-language Poetry-Slam-Meisterschaften (2008) and the Deutscher Kabarettpreis Sonderpreis (2024). He has also published numerous books, including Cogito, ergo dumm (2020) and Bäume sind Büsche auf Balken (2023).
