About Dolák-Saly Róbert
Before absurd humour, there was music. Dolák-Saly Róbert trained as a biology and art teacher and taught briefly, but his stage life began when the band Omega took him on as their opening act on tours in 1976 and 1977. In 1980 he won Pulzus, the Magyar Televízió talent contest, and from 1984 he worked with Koncz Zsuzsa's band.
The turning point was 1986, when he founded the L'art pour l'art Társulat with Laár András, Galla Miklós and Nagy Natália. The company built its name on absurd humour, and it ran in that line-up until 1996. A reformed version with Laár András, Pethő Zsolt and Szászi Móni carried on making stage shows and television, with Dolák-Saly working as performer, composer and lyricist.
His own recordings include the album Láthatatlan ég, released in 1992, and with Európa Könyvkiadó he has published the books Madáretető, Boborján, written with Szászi Móni, and Agyatlantisz avagy Az ember tragédia. His work has been recognised with the eMeRTon-díj in 1991, the Huszka Jenő-díj in 1995 and the Bonbon-díj in 2006.
