About Kohalmi Zoltan
Kőhalmi Zoltán (born 29 October 1977 in Szentes) is a Karinthy-gyűrű-winning Hungarian humorist and architect. The defining experiences of his childhood are tied to his hometown of Szentes and to the "rival" town of Csongrád lying on the other bank of the Tisza. He completed his secondary education at the Ságvári Endre Gyakorló Gimnázium in Szeged. After graduating he was admitted to the BME Építészmérnöki Kar (Faculty of Architecture).
As a first-year student, in 1998, he became the winner of the Magyar Rádió Humorfesztivál as an author. After the festival he began working at the Rádiókabaré, and later became a member of Fábry Sándor's gag team on the program Esti Showder. There he worked together with Litkai Gergely, who later invited him to the newly launching Godot Dumaszínház. He hesitated, but eventually tried the genre of stand-up comedy as a performer as well. Since his successful debut he has been one of the most popular humorists. He regularly hosts the programs of the Rádiókabaré and the Kabaréklub, is a regular performer of the Showder Klub, and since 2008 he has led the cover-design team of HVG.
He made a brief excursion into the world of film: he is credited as screenwriter of the animated short film Bossa Astoria, and appeared as an actor in Buhera mátrix. He received the Karinthy-gyűrű, the award of the Magyar Rádió, in 2009. He is married and the father of three children.
