About Laár András
Laár András has kept music and absurd humour running side by side. In 1981 he founded the band KFT with Bornai Tibor and Márton András, and his other musical projects range from Panta Rhei and Kamara Rock Trio to Küllőrojt and his own Laár András Grotex Band.
His comedy grew out of his poetry. In 1986 he gave his first solo performance at the Pinceszínház on Török Pál utca in Budapest, an evening built largely on his absurd poems, which Dolák-Saly Róbert later joined; before that year was out the L'art pour l'art Társulat had been formed.
The writing continues on the page as well, with books that include poetry and the surreal tales A Csőevő Duhajka meséi. On television he performed several times on A Comedy Central bemutatja on Comedy Central Magyarország. He holds the Karinthy Ring, and away from the stage he is also a Buddhist priest.
