Puzsér Róbert

Róbert Puzsér performs a register Hungarian audiences recognise at once: the critic who takes a cultural product apart in front of a room and gets the laughs from the demolition. He qualified as a teacher of history and Hungarian literature, taught for a single year, and from 2004 became a fixture on Hungarian radio and television as a commentator on media, advertising and public life.

The weekly film review strand A hét mesterlövésze gave him his following, and a run as a judge on the talent contest Csillag születik in 2012 made him a household name, with phrases from those broadcasts passing into everyday Hungarian. He has kept a parallel life on stage, with regular evenings in Budapest venues under titles such as Sznobjektív and Reklámtörvényszék, and he publishes his criticism in written and filmed form on a platform he runs himself.
