Abhishek Upmanyu

Abhishek Upmanyu is an Indian stand-up comedian born on May 19, 1990, in Delhi. He grew up in a middle-class Delhi family, studied engineering at Punjab Engineering College in Chandigarh, and later worked as a comedy writer before fully committing to stand-up. He is widely regarded as one of India's sharpest observational comedians, beloved for his dry, deadpan delivery and relatable takes on everyday life.

Abhishek Upmanyu began performing stand-up at open mics in Delhi in 2013. In 2015 he joined the popular comedy collective AIB as a writer, sharpening his craft before launching his YouTube channel in 2016 with the video Indian Insults and Comebacks. His full-length specials Thoda Saaf Bol and Jealous of Sabziwala (2023, available on YouTube) became major hits, with Jealous of Sabziwala racking up millions of views and cementing his national reputation. His comedy sets on subjects such as Delhi street life, relationships, rich people and Indian English have made him one of the most-watched Hindi stand-up comedians online. By 2025 he was touring internationally with his show Toxic, performing in North America and Southeast Asia. As of 2026 he has more than 3 million YouTube subscribers.

Abhishek Upmanyu regularly tours India and international cities with large Indian diaspora communities, including shows across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Singapore and Australia. His touring show Toxic was active in 2025-2026, with dates across North America. Full-length specials including Jealous of Sabziwala are available free on his YouTube channel.
