Shyam Rangeela

Shyam Rangeela's act is built entirely on mimicry, an old and demanding branch of Indian comedy in which the voice has to be exactly right before any line can land.

Shyam Rangeela is known for his impressions of Indian political figures, among them Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi.

Shyam Rangeela taped a set for The Great Indian Laughter Challenge that drew a standing ovation from the judge on the panel, but it was never broadcast; he has said television turned him down because his comedy was too political.

After television passed on him, Shyam Rangeela's audience moved online, and that is where most of his performances can be found.

Shyam Rangeela grew up in a village in the Hanumangarh area and trained in animation in Jaipur before comedy became his work.
