About Adi Arkiang
Adi Arkiang is an Indonesian stand-up comedian from Alor in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) who is known for performing almost entirely in Sundanese. As a teenager he moved to West Java to study at an Islamic boarding school (pesantren) and later attended UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, where he grew fluent enough in Sundanese language and everyday humor to earn the nickname Timur Sunda, or East Sundanese. He reached a national audience through Stand Up Comedy Academy season 4, broadcast on Indosiar in 2018, and has continued performing on the Bandung comedy circuit for nearly a decade since. In October 2024 he staged his first solo stand-up special, Fortunate, at De Majestic in Bandung, built around stories of the unexpected luck that shaped his path from an NTT village to the Sundanese comedy scene; the special is also sold as a digital download. Adi Arkiang is frequently cited alongside other comedians of NTT origin who have built careers on other Indonesian islands.
