About David Nurbianto
David Nurbianto (born 13 December 1989) is an Indonesian stand-up comedian, actor and screenwriter. He is known as the champion of Stand Up Comedy Indonesia on Kompas TV in its fourth season in 2014. David's parents came from Kebumen. He was raised in a family with a modest economic background, so he did not continue his studies to university after graduating from high school. Over several years he frequently changed jobs, having been a DVD rental attendant and worked at a fast-food restaurant.
David and several of his friends often went to a cafe that held solo comedy performances. He started by regularly taking part in open mic activities to earn extra income, while working as a motorcycle taxi driver at the time. David took part in the audition for the fourth season of Stand Up Comedy Indonesia in Jakarta and succeeded in qualifying as one of 20 contestants. The comedy material he raised was about his ethnicity, the Betawi people. He managed to win the competition, and as an expression of gratitude he used the prize money to send his grandmother on umrah to Makkah.
David became a presenter at the fifth season of Stand Up Comedy Indonesia, accompanying Pandji Pragiwaksono. In the sixth season, David together with Babe Cabiita and Rigen Rakelna took turns as co-presenter. He became a morning broadcaster at Radio HOT 93.2 FM. In 2017, David together with Awwe was appointed by Indosiar as a mentor on Stand Up Comedy Academy season three.
