Yono Bakrie

Yono Bakrie, born 22 June 1992, is an Indonesian stand-up comedian, musician and actor. Yono was born in Samarinda to Javanese parents who had transmigrated there. Initially, Yono was an employee working at a pharmaceutical company; he had worked there since 2013 while completing his studies, and his task was to deliver ordered medicine to health institutions in Samarinda. He graduated with a degree in Management from Universitas Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur.

At the end of 2014, Yono first became acquainted with the world of stand-up comedy after watching a YouTube video by Raditya Dika. In the same year, Yono joined the Stand Up Indo Samarinda community; he had been invited by one of his colleagues to watch an open mic event at a cafe, where the host pointed him out to perform on stage, and armed with a blog post he had once written, his first performance could be considered a success. When he decided to pursue a career in entertainment, Yono adopted the stage name "Yono Bakrie", taking the name "Bakrie" from the politician Aburizal Bakrie, in the hope of becoming a wealthy person in material, spiritual and mindset terms. Yono first became known when he auditioned for the ninth season of Stand Up Comedy Indonesia Kompas TV in 2021, where he did not pass. In 2019 he decided to focus fully on stand-up and, that same year, staged "Candakiawan" as his first special performance, in collaboration with the Stand Up Indo Samarinda and Stand Up Indo Balikpapan communities.

Yono auditioned for the tenth season of Stand Up Comedy Indonesia Kompas TV, passing through the audition in Jakarta and earning a silver ticket; however, at the start of 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic spread and caused the audition process to be postponed, with auditions resuming at the end of 2020 in an online format. Due to technical problems and an unstable internet connection, Yono's online performance looked messy to the judges, who declared that he did not pass at that time. After performing with increasing progress each week, Yono eventually came out as champion, beating fellow stand-up comedian Gautama Shindu based on the assessment. Yono officially married Vini Caroline on 16 June 2025 at the Kantor Urusan Agama Sungai Kunjang in Samarinda, East Kalimantan. His television work includes Stand Up Comedy Indonesia Kompas TV (2022) as champion, Sobat Misqueen (Trans7, 2023) as presenter, and Surprise Mak!!! (RCTI, 2025) as co-presenter, and his special performances include "Candakiawan" (2019) and "So You Know Tour" (2023-2024).
