About Giuseppe Braida
Giuseppe Braida, known as Beppe Braida, is an Italian stand-up comedian, cabaret performer and television host born on November 22, 1965 in Turin. Active since 1989, he is best known for his parodies of Italian TV news anchors on Zelig and Colorado, where his catchphrases Attentato! Si tratta di attentato! and Mingozzi, ci sei? became cult tormentoni of early-2000s Italian comedy.
Braida started his career in cabaret in 1989 and in 1991 took part in the Festival di Sanscemo with his group I Bagatto, winning the Festival Nazionale del Cabaret in 1992. National fame arrived through television, first on Seven Show and then on Zelig and Colorado, where he built a recurring routine parodying news anchors from TG3, TG4 and TG5. His political and news satire earned him nine lawsuits and the attention of Striscia la Notizia creator Antonio Ricci, who invited him to co-host the program and to perform improvised duets with TG4 director Emilio Fede. Braida later hosted Colorado Revolution and Tutti pazzi per la tele, and in March 2021 took part as a contestant in the fifteenth edition of L'isola dei famosi on Canale 5, leaving the show suddenly on April 9 due to a family Covid situation. After a long career break he returned to live cabaret on the Italian theatrical circuit and on the Adriatica Cabaret festival lineup.
Beppe Braida tours small theaters, festivals and cabaret clubs across Italy, including the historic Cab 41 in Turin and the Adriatica Cabaret Festival, with his stand-up and political satire shows booked through Comiclive and RG Spettacoli. His Zelig and Colorado archive is available on Mediaset Infinity and YouTube, and his current tour dates and clips are posted on Instagram @beppebraida and Facebook.
