Sergio Friscia

Sergio Friscia is an Italian stand-up comedian, showman, actor and television host born April 27, 1971 in Palermo, Sicily. After more than two decades on Italian national television, he has co-hosted the Mediaset satirical news show Striscia la notizia on Canale 5 since 2021 alongside fellow Palermitan Roberto Lipari.

Friscia started in 1986 as a DJ and animator in Sicilian discotheques and tourist villages, then moved into regional radio and Sicilian television in the early 1990s. In 1997 he reached Rai 2 as part of Gianni Boncompagni's cult show Macao, where he created characters such as Lollo il flesciato and Mr. Di Giovanni del settimo piano. He went on to appear in Convenscion, Domenica In, Tale e Quale Show and Stasera tutto e possibile, hosted Mezzogiorno in famiglia on Rai 2 for ten editions starting 2009 and presented the Sanremo Festival preview for Carlo Conti in 2016. From spring 2011 he joined Striscia la notizia as a correspondent, famous for his impression of Beppe Grillo, and from 2021 was promoted to official co-host with Roberto Lipari, a pairing that returned to the show on 14 October 2024 for its fourth consecutive season. On the acting side he played the killer Pochetcoffi in Il capo dei capi on Canale 5 and Sergione in the Netflix series Incastrati by Ficarra e Picone (2022).

Sergio Friscia tours Italian theaters and event venues with his showman set blending stand-up, impressions and music, traveling from Palermo to Milan, Rome and Sicilian summer festivals.
