Allan Perera

Allan Perera is a Malaysian comedian and actor best known as one half of the comedy duo Comedy Court, which he founded with Indi Nadarajah in 1997. The duo built a distinctly Malaysian style of sketch comedy, turning the swearing, bravado and drinking culture they observed in downtown bars into sketches featuring recurring characters such as Loga and Singam, Mertle and Thawi, and T.K. and T.C. Comedy Court marked its 20th anniversary in 2018 with shows that drew a combined audience of around 7,000 people. Beyond his work with Nadarajah, Perera has also performed as a solo stand-up comedian, notably in the 2019 one man show Malaysia's Got No Shame, reviewed positively by The Star newspaper. His comedy, whether solo or with Comedy Court, is presented from a Malaysian perspective, addressing the country, its families, friends and the wider world as seen through Malaysian eyes.
