About Alan Saldaña

Alan Saldana is a Mexican stand-up comedian from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, nicknamed "El As de la Comedia" (the Ace of Comedy). He holds a degree in Public Administration and began performing comedy informally in 2007, telling jokes on city buses and in public plazas of his home city before working his way into bars and comedy showcases.

He made his television debut on Comedy Central Presenta in 2015 and went on to become the first comedian from Monterrey, known locally as a regiomontano, to release a Netflix stand-up special, Alan Saldana: Mi Vida De Pobre (2017), directed by Raul Campos and Jan Suter, in which he builds routines around growing up with little money.

Saldana has since toured extensively across Mexican cities including Nuevo Laredo, Leon, Saltillo and Ciudad Juarez with his solo stand-up shows, mixing sarcasm and social observation drawn from his own working-class upbringing. He maintains an official YouTube channel, Alan Saldana Oficial, where he posts comedy content to a large following.
