About Teo González
Teo González belongs to the joke-telling side of Mexican comedy, and the trademark people remember is not a punchline but a sound: his imitation of the horn of a Volkswagen Sedan. Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo is credited with calling him the comedian with the ponytail, a nickname that stuck.
National exposure came in July 1997 on Al ritmo de la noche, broadcast on Las Estrellas, and in March 1998 he started Para cargarse de risa, which stayed on air for two years. The joke formats that followed include Humor es... Los Comediantes, La casa de la risa, Fábrica de risas and Guerra de chistes.
Live work took him to Espacio 98 and to the Acapulco festival, and for six years in a row he appeared at the international humour festival in Bogotá, with further dates in Costa Rica and Venezuela. He marked his thirtieth anniversary as a comedian in 2013 with five sold-out performances at Teatro Galerías in Guadalajara.
