Kor Hoebe

Kor Hoebe is a Dutch cabaret performer and stand-up comedian, born on 17 February 1987 in Amsterdam, where he grew up in the city's eastern district. He has Dutch and Polish heritage, though he has described himself as resembling the German tennis player Boris Becker. Before turning to comedy full time, he worked for several years in youth prisons, an experience that exposed him to many striking and often moving stories that later fed into his stage material. Early in his career he won the Studenten Cabaret Festival. His debut full length show, 'Kordaat', processes these years of experience in youth detention alongside sharp jokes, personal anecdotes and audience interaction, blending versatile cabaret with short, witty material and raw humor. He performs with a mix of self deprecation and a sharp view of the world, and has toured Dutch theaters with the show, including reprise performances. He speaks fluent English along with some Farsi, Russian, Turkish and Sranan Tongo.
