Per-Owe Helle

Per-Owe Helle is a Norwegian stand-up comedian active on the club circuit in Norway. According to his own account, he began performing stand-up after a friend convinced him to sign up for a stand-up course, and he has since built a touring career as a live comedian rather than a television personality. He is a regular headliner for Stand Up Bergen, appearing frequently on the Lille Ole Bull stage in Bergen, and has also worked as a compere (konferansier) for stand-up shows in Stavanger. His touring schedule has taken him to other Norwegian cities as well, including Harstad, which has its own stand-up scene and comedy festival. Helle shares material and reflections on the realities of a comedy career, including how stand-up became financially sustaining for him, through his YouTube channel and in podcast appearances such as an episode of Pustepausen. On Instagram, where he maintains an active following, he identifies simply as a standup komiker (stand-up comedian). Though he has not received mainstream television exposure comparable to some of Norway's best known comedians, Helle is recognized within the Norwegian club scene, with Stand Up Bergen naming him among its favorite performers and booking him repeatedly as a headline act.
