About Danny Rosales
Danny Yván Rosales Tananta (born in Lima on March 23, 1978) is a Peruvian comedian, actor and impressionist, recognized mainly for his recurring character of "la abuela Maca" and for taking part in various comedy programs in his country. He was born on March 23, 1978, in the Peruvian capital Lima, coming from a lower-middle-class family. He began his artistic career at the age of fourteen working as a street comedian in the Parque Universitario, and after finishing school he received acting classes from the renowned actor Ramón García.
Some time later, Rosales entered television for the first time with the Peruvian comedy program Los reyes de la risa on the channel Red Global in 1998, without achieving success, sharing the stage with other humorists such as Tripita, Mondonguito, Kike Suero and José Luis Cachay. He was invited to the program of journalist Mónica Zevallos so that in 1999 he joined the cast of Los ambulantes de la risa, the successor program to the old television space Risas y salsa, under the simple name "Danny". After pausing his television career to continue his work as a street comedian, Rosales returned to television after being invited by Aldo Miyashiro in 2004, taking part in the television series Misterio, playing himself; the following year he joined the cast of Lobos de mar as "Huevera". He also lent his presence to the humorous program Recargados de risa, where he played the character of "la abuela Maca" starting in 2006.
In 2011, Rosales joined the cast of the comedian Jorge Benavides, starting in the comedy show El especial del humor and beginning to do impressions of national and international celebrities, the Peruvian boxer Jonathan Maicelo being one of them; in the following years he worked again with Benavides on his later spaces La paisana Jacinta, El wasap de JB and JB en ATV. In parallel, Rosales was part of the hosting of the radio program 2 por la mañana for the station Radio Panamericana, alongside his castmate, the comic actor Carlos Vílchez, between 2020 and 2022, and was a guest on the Peruvian late show La noche es mía in 2016. In 2020 he took part with Dayanita in the comedy play Habla causa, in which both were leads. In 2023 he starred, alongside Kike Suero, in the comedy play Las hermanas Caraju, based on the sketch from Los ambulantes de risa. In 2024 he took on the promotion of a circus event in a rural area of the department of Ayacucho, summarized in a web documentary.
