About José Salomón
Jose Salomon is a Peruvian stand-up comedian based in Arequipa. In 2017, along with his wife, fellow comedian Emmita Salazar, and comedian Cri Cri Moreno, he founded Stand-up Comedy Arequipa, building on a local stand-up scene that had begun taking shape in the city around 2016; the group has staged more than 300 shows in bars, theaters, corporate events and online.
Salomon trained at the ECA comedy school in Medellin, Colombia, in 2019 and 2020, and has been part of the Latin American Comedy Circuit since 2018. He has performed and produced stand-up comedy championships across the Arequipa, Lima, Moquegua and Puno regions. With Salazar, he runs the production company D.O.S Vibes, through which the pair host the sociocultural program #OEQ! and post their stand-up comedy shows on YouTube, and he has published instructional e-books on how to learn stand-up comedy and teaches his own workshops.
