María Victoria Santana

María Victoria Santana started out as a comic actress in the late 2000s, making her debut on the comedy programme Sábado bravazo, where she stood out in the Doctor Jeringa sketch. In 2009 she joined Por humor al Perú, sharing scenes with the comedians Manolo Rojas and Alfredo Benavides.

She also created a character of her own, the one that would later make her famous. The name La Pánfila came from the comic actors Arturo Álvarez and Mariella Zanetti while she was on Recargados de risa, and she brought the character back on Risas de América. She kept it on when she competed in the dance reality show El gran show in 2013, and built a stage show around it, El circo de La Pánfila, performed each year in July and August.

Later work took her beyond the character. She was in the main cast of the series Los Vílchez as Flower, a maid in the León de la Torre household, for two seasons up to 2020. On stage she co-starred with Edward Llungo in the comedy La tóxica y el vístimo in 2022, carried the solo show Mamá con huevos in 2023 under the direction of Marco Antonio Huachaca, and played Doña Cuca in #ConMiMamáNoTeMetas.
