About Milagros Porturas
Milagros Porturas is a Peruvian stand-up comedian, actress and event host who holds a master's degree in performing arts and has more than fifteen years of experience on stage. She discovered stand-up comedy around 2000 and describes it as love at first sight. In 2009 she returned to the stage with her first full solo monologue, No Soy Virgen, pero Soy Milagrosa, performed first at the Jazz Zone venue and later at La Estacion de Barranco in Lima.
She has since built a repertoire of solo shows addressing women's lives and relationships, including Mujer que no Jode es Hombre?, which examines the double standard behind the phrase, and Estado Civil: Reciclada, about returning to single life as an adult woman with children. Porturas has taught workshops in theater, television acting, clown and stand-up comedy both in Peru and abroad, and posts her performances on her YouTube channel, Milagros Porturas Comedy.
