Susan Cristán

Susan Cristán owes her best-known character to a children's cartoon. She started in 2008 with a segment on La súper movida, and with guidance from Manolo Rojas she joined El circo de Manolo Rojas, where she played Pucca and Garu from the animated series. Adding elements of the Andean highland woman turned that impersonation into la chola Puca, the figure she took to national television on Por humor al Perú, on TV Perú, from 2009.

The character has carried the rest of her work. She built a yearly stage show around it, El circo de la chola Puca, timed for the national holiday season in July and August, and her later television appearances include Risas y Salsa: Nueva Generación, Combate and Esto es guerra. In 2015 she began recording music that mixes Peruvian cumbia with Andean styles, and on Radio Exitosa she co-hosts Los exitosos del humor with Miguel Moreno and Arturo Álvarez.
