Red Ollero

Red Ollero is a Filipino stand-up comedian, actor and podcaster and one of the most established headliners in Manila's stand-up scene. He got his start in comedy in 2007 by joining a talent search contest on Jack TV, the same competition that comedian Victor Anastacio won that year and through which the two became close comedy collaborators. Ollero first performed with the group Comedy Cartel before later becoming one of the touring performers with Comedy Manila, the collective founded in 2013 by GB Labrador and Eri Neeman. In March 2024, Netflix released his special "Red Ollero: Mabuhay Is A Lie," recorded over three shows (two of them sold out, with a third added to meet demand) at Teatrino in Greenhills, San Juan, in August 2023; it was billed as the first-ever homegrown Filipino stand-up special on the platform, covering topics from fast food to brushes with fame. Ollero also hosts the podcast "Bago Matulog with Red Ollero" and a talk show, "Medyo Serious Talk Show with Red Ollero," and has appeared in the films "I Am Not Big Bird" and "Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap." He has cited Rex Navarette, Pablo Francisco and Dave Chappelle as early influences.
