Victor Anastacio

Victor Anastacio is a Filipino stand-up comedian who first took the stage seriously during his third year at Ateneo de Manila University, after fellow comedian Ryan Puno invited him to audition for the 2007 Jack TV comedy competition Laffapalooza, which he won; he graduated from Ateneo with a BS in Legal Management (BS LM) in 2009. He initially kept comedy on the side while working two corporate banking jobs, before eventually leaving the corporate world to become a full-time comedian with Comedy Manila, the collective founded in 2013 by GB Labrador and Eri Neeman. Anastacio built a stand-up act around sharply original, self-deprecating material, and became known to Filipino audiences as the on-camera host of ABS-CBN's shopping channel O Shopping and through a widely shared 2017 Manulife commercial built around his true-to-life comedian jokes. He has also worked as a television host for ABS-CBN and done commercial work with GMA Network, performing live at venues including Arete at Ateneo, the Music Museum and the Henry Lee Irwin Theatre. Beyond stand-up, Anastacio hosts the podcast "Intellectwalwal," where he discusses current affairs with guests.
