Skhumba Hlophe is a South African comedian, radio presenter, and actor born on 31 August 1981 in Tembisa, a township north of Johannesburg. Widely known by his first name 'Skhumba', he is one of South Africa's most recognisable cross-platform entertainers, combining stand-up comedy with a prominent career in radio. He worked for 13 years as a senior personnel officer with the South African Police Service before leaving to pursue entertainment full-time around 2016.

His breakthrough came in 2010 at the 99% Xhosa Comedy show in Port Elizabeth, where he earned a standing ovation. He joined Kaya FM (now Kaya 959) in 2012 as co-host of 'Thomas and Skhumba in the Morning' after the Savanna Comics Choice Awards caught the attention of the station manager. By 2024 he transitioned to presenting the afternoon drive show on Kaya 959. He has produced six one-man comedy specials, with his sixth show 'The Appointment with Skhumba Hlophe' touring from November 2024 through 2025. He appeared at the Laugh Africa Comedy Festival (2024) and headlined Skhumba's Weekend Comedy Special at the Market Theatre. As an actor he appeared in the Netflix romantic comedy 'Soweto Love Story'.
