About David Rionda
David Rionda built his audience on radio before he built one on stage. He started out at Radio Vetusta in 2005, then moved to the regional public broadcaster, where music programming led to the lunchtime show Mediodía Entero, presented together with Rubén Morillo. Desayuno con Liantes began as a weekend breakfast programme and was later extended to every weekday, and he both directs and presents it on Radio del Principado de Asturias.
Stand-up runs alongside the microphone work. In 2011 he reached the final of the first national monologue contest organised by El Hormiguero and came away with an honourable mention, and he has performed with Asturies Comedy Club and Ástur Comedy. His television credits include OP Siglo XXI and Cazatalentos, and in 2016 he and Morillo set up the audiovisual production company Amarok.
Away from the microphone he draws humour cartoons, and his writing extends to the book Yo fui Ronda Collins, published in 2021. He has also acted in short films and co-produces the podcast Redescubriendo a Casal.
