About Hovik Keuchkerian
Hovik Keuchkerian reached comedy by way of the ring. Boxing as a heavyweight, he became champion of Spain in 2003 against David Blanco and kept the title in 2004 against Marcelo Ferreira, then walked away from the sport disillusioned with the way the professional side was organised.
His stage career began in 2010 with Cocretas, a monologue recorded for Paramount Comedy. It opened the way to Un mendigo con zapatos de algod贸n, a show that stayed on the bill on Madrid's Gran V铆a for three seasons, from 2011 to 2013. Writing runs underneath all of it: his books include the poetry collection Cartas desde el Palmar in 2005, Lokura in 2008, Diarios y desvar铆os in 2012 and Resiliente in 2014.
Acting then took the larger share of his time. His part in Alacr谩n enamorado earned a Goya nomination for best new actor at the 2014 awards, and from 2019 he played Bogot谩, one of the gang of robbers in La casa de papel on Netflix. He won the Premio Feroz for best male performance in a series in 2021 for Antidisturbios, and the Concha de Plata for best supporting performance at the San Sebasti谩n festival in 2023 for Un amor.
