Munoz was doing impressions of his teachers at school under the stage name Super Agente Billy, and recorded a cassette of jokes and impersonations as Sergio TV that sold through petrol stations and small shops. He met Jose Mota during military service in 1985; the two moved to Madrid together and worked the venues there with a show called Cien personajes en busca de humor.

As Cruz y Raya they reached television in 1989 on Pero esto que es, parodying a radio station, and went on to a long line of their own programmes on La 1, among them Cruz y Raya.com and Juan y Jose.show. Munoz directed and starred in Ja me maaten and Ekipo Ja as Juan de Dios, a character lifted from the sketches, and he is the Spanish dubbing voice of Shrek. The duo ended in 2007 after twenty-two years. He later competed in Tu cara me suena and went back to monologues and stand-up in theatres around Spain.
