About Bänz Friedli
Bänz Friedli reached the stage by way of journalism. At Radio Förderband in Bern he hosted a programme about Italian music, read the news and reported on sport, and he wrote the column Berner Alltag for Der Bund. Pendlerregeln in 20 Minuten followed, then a long run of weekly columns in Migros-Magazin, first as Der Hausmann and later under his own name. His books include Ich pendle, also bin ich, the Der Hausmann trilogy and Der Wal im See.
His first cabaret programme, Sy no Frage?, opened in 2011. After it came Gömmer Starbucks?, Ke Witz!, Was würde Elvis sagen?, S isch kompliziert and Bänz Friedli räumt auf, along with Retour, a two-man show with Thomas C. Breuer. He performs in Bernese German all over German-speaking Switzerland and keeps returning to the Arosa Humor-Festival.
On radio he is heard on Zytlupe, the Saturday satire slot of Radio SRF 1, and he hosted Ohrfeigen, a live show broadcast twice a year from the Kleintheater Luzern. His stage work has earned him the Salzburger Stier in 2015 and the Cornichon in 2024.
