Jonny Fischer

Jonny Fischer trained as a teacher at the Lehrerseminar Sankt Michael in Zug, which is also where he met Manuel Burkart. The two first performed together at the school's music night, and in April 2002 they staged Kultimulturell at the Lorzensaal in Cham, the professional debut of Divertimento. For a few years Fischer combined the stage with teaching at the Rudolf Steiner school in Baar, and in 2005 he left the classroom to work on the duo full-time.

Divertimento's programmes have come one after another: Zuvielisation, Plan B, Gate 10 and Sabbatical, and the Gate 10 tour took them into the Hallenstadion. The duo won the Prix Walo in the cabaret and comedy category in 2007. Away from the duo, Fischer sat on the jury of Die grössten Schweizer Talente and made the documentary series Divertimento bei den Schotten for SRF 1.
