About Thomas Wiesel
Thomas Wiesel took a detour through business before comedy. He graduated from HEC Lausanne, spent a year at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and worked as an accountant for a company in Geneva. The turning point came in March 2012, when he won the competition of the Banane Comedy Club in Lausanne.
His stage credits since then include the Jamel Comedy Club and the Montreux Comedy Festival, and he opened for Kev Adams and Gad Elmaleh on their show Tout est possible at the Geneva Arena. His own solo shows run from Thomas Wiesel à Beaulieu through Ça va to Thomas Wiesel travaille and Société Écrans.
Topical writing is the other half of his output. On La Première he was a columnist for Les Beaux Parleurs, his weekly slot on Quotidien put him in front of French television viewers, France Inter carried his humorous segments on La Bande originale, and with Blaise Bersinger he hosted Mauvaise langue on RTS. The Swiss Society of Authors gave him its humour prize in 2021.
