Benji Aflalo

Benji Aflalo, born on August 3, 1983, in Los Angeles, California, is an American stand-up comedian, writer, actor, and podcaster. A long-time regular at The Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip, he is best known as the co-creator and co-star of the Freeform sitcom Alone Together and as host of the Fat Benji podcast. He grew up in Los Angeles attending Jewish day school.

Aflalo developed his stand-up at The Comedy Store, where he met fellow comedian Esther Povitsky. In 2015 the two wrote, starred in, and self-produced the short film Alone Together; a Freeform pilot was greenlit in July 2016, and the series premiered on January 10, 2018, running for two seasons. As a writer, Aflalo has contributed material to the Comedy Central Roasts of James Franco, Justin Bieber, and Bruce Willis. He hosts the Fat Benji podcast, in which he sits down with comedian friends to talk about comedy, food, mental health, and Los Angeles club life. His stand-up style is self-deprecating and observational, rooted in body image, relationships, and growing up Jewish in LA.

Aflalo headlines clubs across the country and is a regular at The Comedy Store and the Hollywood Improv in Los Angeles, with additional dates at Zanies in Chicago and other rooms on the national circuit. New episodes of the Fat Benji podcast publish on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube.
