About Dave Coulier
David Alan Coulier (born September 21, 1959) is an American actor and comedian, best known for his role as Joey Gladstone on the ABC sitcom Full House and its spin-off Fuller House. Born in Detroit, Michigan, and raised Catholic, he got his start in stand-up comedy in high school by impersonating his principal and staff over the public-address system, and later performed at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles. He has done extensive voice work, including Peter Venkman on The Real Ghostbusters and characters on Muppet Babies after Howie Mandel left. Coulier was briefly cast for Saturday Night Live ahead of its 1986 season but was let go for being too similar to Dana Carvey. He continues to tour the U.S. and Canada as a stand-up comedian and is a member of the Duck's Breath Mystery Theater troupe. A private pilot and ice hockey fan, he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in October 2024.
