Mark Viera

Mark Viera is an American stand-up comedian born and raised in The Bronx, New York. A fixture on the New York City club circuit, he performs regularly at the Comedy Cellar, Carolines on Broadway, New York Comedy Club, and other top rooms in the city. Viera draws on his upbringing as a Nuyorican - a Puerto Rican New Yorker - to build observational, storytelling comedy rooted in the specific rhythms of 1970s and 1980s New York City life.

Viera built his career through the New York club system and has been a member of the Nuyorican Poets Cafe comedy troupe in Manhattan. His television credits include an appearance on NBC's Emmy-winning 30 Rock, as well as Martin Lawrence Presents: 1st Amendment Stand-Up, Comedy Central's Russell Simmons Presents Stand-Up at the El Rey, AXS TV's Gotham Comedy Live, BET's ComicView, and Comedy Central's Gabriel Iglesias Presents: Stand Up Revolution. His signature hour-long Showtime special Tales of a Nuyorican is an autobiographical show drawing from his upbringing in the Bronx, widely regarded as a defining showcase of his voice. The special was also released on Amazon Prime Video. Viera has headlined college campuses across the United States and a sold-out tour alongside Marc Anthony extended his profile to Latin entertainment audiences. A sitcom developed with Warner Bros. and FOX, with executive producer George Lopez attached, was also in development during his career rise.
