About Mike Vecchione
Mike Vecchione is an American stand-up comedian and actor born on November 15, 1972 in Youngstown, Ohio. A former Special Education teacher in the Philadelphia area, he moved to New York City at the end of 2003 to pursue comedy full time. More than twenty years later he is one of the busiest Italian-American comedians on the NYC circuit, known for a rapid-fire, punch-line-heavy delivery.
Vecchione's debut album Muscle Confusion was followed by his breakthrough record The Worst Kind of Thoughtful, named Vulture's Comedy Album of the Year for 2018. In 2010 he won the People's Choice Award at the New York Comedy Festival, was a semi-finalist on NBC's Last Comic Standing, and was selected for the prestigious Just For Laughs New Faces showcase in Montreal. He was a semi-finalist again on Last Comic Standing in 2014. He has appeared on The Tonight Show three times (twice with Jay Leno, once with Jimmy Fallon in 2019), Comedy Central's This Week at the Comedy Cellar, Comedy Underground with Dave Attell, and Conan, and he was featured in the 2020 Judd Apatow film The King of Staten Island. His 2023 special Mike Vecchione: The Attractives and 2025 hour Low Income White on Nateland are widely streamed. His comedy has been described as a boxer working a speed bag.
Mike Vecchione is a regular at the Comedy Cellar, The Stand NYC, and New York Comedy Club, and headlines major American comedy clubs including Comedy Works in Denver, DC Improv, and the Improv chain. His YouTube channel @comicmikev hosts his full specials including Worst Kind of Thoughtful and Low Income White.
