Cathy Gauthier

Cathy Gauthier is a Quebec humorist born on 25 February 1977 in Rouyn-Noranda. Cathy Gauthier graduated from the Ecole nationale de l'humour in 1999. She was named Revelation de l'annee at the Festival Juste pour rire in 2003 and was invited to take part in several Quebec shows including Un gars, une fille, Les Chick'n Swell and Catherine. She also played the lead role of the TV series Roxy. She also worked in radio, during the autumn of 2000 on I Leve You on CKMF-FM with Bruno Blanchet, Elyse Marquis and Stephanie Allaire, as well as on CKOI-FM between 2004 and 2006 on the show Fun radio, then La Gang de malades. A protegee of Dominique Michel, she made a specialty of presenting comedy shows with a raw tone, without necessarily being vulgar.

With the help of Dominique Michel and Francois Avard (as script editor), Cathy Gauthier put together her first show titled 100 % vache folle in 2005. This show was performed nearly 200 times and seen by more than 50 000 people. Afterwards, she returned to the stage with her 2nd show Decoiffe! in 2012. She played her own role in the comedy Les Pecheurs between 2013 and 2017. Since the autumn of 2022, she co-hosts the morning show Le Boost on CKMF-FM with Remi-Pierre Paquin and Martin Tremblay. In addition, she hosted, with Eve Cote, the 25th Gala Les Olivier, which was poorly received by critics.

Married to Me Francois Paradis, whom she has been with since 2009, she revealed she was expecting their first child in November 2017 after several miscarriages. From her marriage with Paradis, she is the stepmother of a daughter named Lea, born in 2007. On 4 April 2018, she gave birth to a daughter named Alice, whose godfather is the humorist Jean-Thomas Jobin. At the beginning of 2025, she announced she was taking an indefinite break from radio and from the show Le Boost! to be more present in her child's life.
