About Jean-Thomas Jobin
Jean-Thomas Jobin, born on 16 June 1975, is an absurdist Quebec humorist. His first comedic experiences were in his fifth year of secondary school, at the Seminaire St-Francois, when he wrote pieces for the student newspaper. In 1998 and 1999, in Quebec City, he completed his training at the College Radio Television de Quebec. In 2000, he took part in an amateur videographers' contest and was awarded the public prize. Following this prize, he auditioned at the Ecole nationale de l'humour and was accepted, completing his training in humour creation in 2000. He did a tour of 20 shows across Quebec, including the festival Juste pour rire, 2000 edition.
In the summer of 2001, he created the Show Absurde in collaboration with Les Denis Drolet. That year Jobin received the prize for emerging talent for his performances at the festival Juste pour rire. In 2002, at his first appearance at the Grand Rire Bleu de Quebec, Jean-Thomas received the nez d'or de la Revelation, sharing the prize with Mike Ward and Martin Rozon. In May 2003, Jean-Thomas Jobin flew to Europe where he showcased his zany universe at the Festival de l'humour de Cavaillon in Provence. In 2004 he was a columnist on Fun Noir on TQS and on Une emission couleur on Radio-Canada, and was named Revelation de l'annee at the Gala Les Olivier. He presented a first eponymous one man show from October 2005 in a tour that ended in 2008.
In 2010, he presented his second one man show, Soulever des Corneliu. In February 2013, despite his acrophobia, he took part in the show Le Grand Saut on V. At the Gala Les Olivier of 2016, he was crowned author of the year for his show Apprendre a s'aimer, his third one man show. In 2021, he won the first season of Big Brother Celebrites, the Quebec version of Celebrity Big Brother. In 2023, he began the tour of his fourth one man show, titled Dix Stricts Trente Thes Un, in which he moved a bit away from his absurd character and drew more on his own reality. In 2025, he took part in the fifth season of Big Brother Celebrites "Champions versus recrues".
