About Yves Pujol

Yves Pujol is a French stand-up comedian, musician and one-man-show performer born on November 12, 1965 in Toulon, southern France. He is one of the most recognised voices of southern French regional comedy, mixing the sun-soaked rhythm of Provence with sharply observed humor about everyday life. Before becoming a comedian he attempted five times to pass the postal service exam, before finally choosing a career on stage and training at the Conservatoire d'Art Dramatique in Toulon and at the Cours Florent in Paris.

Yves Pujol's career took off through his collaboration with the legendary French cartoonist Georges Wolinski, with whom he co-wrote his signature one-man-show "J'adore ma femme" ("I Love My Wife"). Built around marriage, women, the elderly, youth and the small absurdities of daily life, the show became a critical and popular success, taking him on tour across France, Belgium and Switzerland. He later expanded the concept with "J'adore toujours ma femme", a continuation of the same comic universe still on the road today. Beyond his solo work he has performed in "Une affaire de famille" and "Pujol sort les dossiers", with "Le meilleur du mieux" serving as a compilation of his best material. Yves Pujol is also an accomplished musician: in 1993 he co-founded the group Aioli with musicians from Provence, blending Provencal songs with comic sketches in the local tradition. His humor draws constantly on his southern French roots, his family life and the typology of characters he grew up around in the Toulon region.

Yves Pujol is on tour year-round in France and French-speaking Europe with "J'adore toujours ma femme", playing intimate venues such as the Cafe Theatre de la Fontaine d'Argent in Aix-en-Provence, the Theatre Galli in Sanary-sur-Mer, and stages in Marseille, Toulon, Avignon, Paris and Lyon. He regularly performs in regional cultural centres and theaters across Provence. Tour dates are published on his official website yvespujol.com.
