Bernhard Hoëcker

Bernhard Hoëcker, proper name Bernhard Hoecker-von Mühlenfels (born 20 March 1970 in Neustadt an der Weinstraße), is a German comedian, actor and television presenter. He is best known for the spoof show Switch, as well as being a permanent member of the previous Genial guessing team Genial Daneben (2003-2011).

Hoëcker grew up in Frankfurt and, at the age of 10, moved to Bonn with his family. He finished his Abitur at the Clara-Schumann-Gymnasium and, between 1993 and 1996, studied economics up to intermediate diploma level (Vordiplom) at the University of Bonn before quitting his studies. He is married to Eva von Mühlenfels, has two daughters, and lives with his family in Bonn. In his free time, he does geocaching, among other things.

His regular shows include Switch (1997-2000), Genial daneben - Die Comedy Arena (2003-2011), Schillerstraße (2004-2011), Switch reloaded (2007-2012), Kaum zu glauben! (since 2014), and Wer weiß denn sowas? (since 2015). His filmography includes Germanikus (2004) and German voice roles such as Verne in Ab durch die Hecke (2006) and Rumpelstilzchen in Für immer Shrek (2010). He has also written several books on geocaching and travel, including Aufzeichnungen eines Schnitzeljägers (2007), and won a Romy award.
