Faisal Kawusi is a German stand-up comedian born on 27 July 1991 in Frankfurt am Main, of Afghan descent. Growing up in Germany as a second-generation Afghan immigrant, he built his comedy around the contradictions and absurdities of that dual identity. He gained his first national exposure through the NightWash comedy platform starting around 2013-2015 and quickly developed a reputation for energetic, unfiltered, and often deliberately provocative material.
Faisal Kawusi rose to broader prominence through appearances on the Sat.1 sketch comedy program Luke! Die Woche und ich, which helped him build a national following. From 2018 to 2020 he hosted his own prime-time Sat.1 show, Die Faisal Kawusi Show, running for three seasons and featuring sketches, celebrity interviews, and comedic segments. In 2017 he competed on the RTL dance competition Let's Dance alongside professional dancer Oana Nechiti. His stand-up style is rooted in first-person storytelling about his Afghan-German background, using self-deprecating humor to dissect cultural stereotypes and integration tensions.
