Maximilian Schafroth

Maxi Schafroth, full name Maximilian Schafroth, is a German stand-up comedian, Kabarettist, actor and filmmaker born in 1985 in Memmingen. Raised on his family's farm in Stephansried near Ottobeuren in the Allgäu, he is one of the most distinctive regional comedy voices in Bavaria. Active since 2007, he is best known for his Allgäu-rooted observational cabaret and his appearances as host of the Munich Nockherberg Singspiel.

After training as a bank clerk and working in banking, Schafroth began developing his stage program in 2007. He broke through in February 2009 with an appearance on Bayerischer Rundfunk's Ottis Schlachthof, followed by the premiere of his debut solo program Faszination Allgäu in March 2009. Since 2012 he has toured nationwide, with the follow-up program Faszination Bayern launching in 2016 as the second part of a planned trilogy. He performs alongside his neighbor and guitarist Markus Schalk. From 2019 he delivered the famous Fastenpredigt at the Munich Nockherberg Starkbierfest, becoming the youngest speaker in the history of the event, and returned to the role from 2023. He is a regular Kabarettist on Bayerischer Rundfunk and has been honored with the silver Scharfrichterbeil in Passau and the Kabarett Kaktus in Munich.

Schafroth is touring Faszination Bayern across Germany from October 2025 through 2026, with shows in Bavarian and southern German theatres listed at maxischafroth.de. He performs annually at the Nockherberg in Munich and appears regularly on Bayerischer Rundfunk.
