Olli Dittrich

Olli Dittrich, born Oliver Michael Dittrich on November 20, 1956, in Offenbach am Main, is a German television personality, comedian, actor, and musician. He completed a three-year education as a theatre painter at the Hamburg State Opera from 1975 to 1978, and at the same time started his professional career as a musician, composer, and songwriter.

Dittrich became famous in Germany for his work as an actor and comedian in the comedy television show RTL Samstag Nacht. He sang and played in the band Die Doofen with Wigald Boning, which sold over 1.5 million copies with only two albums, and in 1995 the duo played as one of the supporting acts on Jon Bon Jovi's stadium tour through Germany. As a musician, Dittrich also plays in the band Texas Lightning, which had a No. 1 hit ("No No Never") and represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006.

After working on RTL Samstag Nacht for five years, Dittrich appeared in many television programmes, shows, and films, including Blind Date, Frühstücksfernsehen, and Dittsche, the latter running since 2004 with over 200 episodes. He is regarded in Germany as one of the most versatile actors, specialized in creating fictional characters. His many awards include multiple Bayerischer Fernsehpreis honours, the Adolf-Grimme-Preis with Gold for Blind Date and for Dittsche, the Deutscher Fernsehpreis (2004), and the Goldene Kamera for Best Entertainment in 2009.
