About Anirban Dasgupta
Anirban Dasgupta is a stand-up comedian and writer from Asansol, born in 1990, who has been on stage since 2014. He performs in English and Hindi, and his sets mix observation, storytelling and political commentary.
His subjects come from everyday Indian life: corporate jobs and the motivational language that surrounds them, school subjects, religion, weddings and the choice not to have children. A thread that keeps returning is the tension between freedom of expression and causing offence. Kolkata is a frequent reference point, and besides his touring show he appears in collaborations with other Indian comics.
His work on Prime Video includes Take It Easy and Afsos.
