About Amir Shurush
Amir Shurush grew up in Eilat and studied at the Beit Zvi school of performing arts in Ramat Gan, graduating in 2009. His first stage jobs took him to the Beit Lessin Theater, the Orna Porat Children's Theater and the musical Billy Schwartz at the Haifa Theatre.
Television soon took over. In 15 Minutes, in 2010, he played Amir Dirar, an Arab contestant on a fictional reality show, and a year later he was Rifat Dahlak in Downtown Precinct. Parts in Temporarily Dead and The Psychologist came next, and then the comedy Checkout on Kan 11, which in 2021 won him the Israeli Television Academy award for best actor in a comedy series.
His satirical work is seen on Eretz Nehederet on Channel 12. Since 2020 he has impersonated public figures there, among them Ayman Odeh, Mansour Abbas, Youseph Haddad, Ali Salam and Furat Nassar.
