Assaf Itzhaki

Assaf Itzhaki (born December 14, 1984) is an Israeli stand-up comedian, actor, and writer, raised in Ramat Hasharon. He began performing comedy as a teenager, taking his first steps on stage at a Tel Aviv comedy club before establishing himself within Israel's stand-up scene. Early in his career he worked as a writer for Israeli television programs including Heichal HaTarbut, Mischak Mekubar, Moadon Layla, and HaStanduppistim (The Stand-up Comedians). Because his material frequently tackles taboo subjects, particularly sexuality, in a direct and unfiltered way, Itzhaki received little mainstream television exposure for years, preferring not to soften his act for broadcast. Instead, he built his following online, publishing comedic videos from 2013 onward, beginning with the web series Status Omen Seduction. From 2015 he began posting clips from his live stand-up sets, which attracted millions of views across YouTube and social media. In 2023 he released a full length special, known as Deeper, which drew over a million views within a year. This online success made him one of the leading stand-up voices among young Israeli audiences during the 2020s. He continues to tour comedy clubs and theaters across Israel, and talent agencies representing him describe him as one of the biggest emerging names on the Israeli stand-up circuit, noted for original, boundary pushing material.
