Eli Yatzpan
About Eli Yatzpan
Eli Yatzpan's first television part was an alien technician in the children's science fiction mini-series Hatsatskanim, and around the same time he acted in films such as Fictional Marriage and Ehad MiShelanu. The turning point was Fisfusim, the hidden camera show of Yigal Shilon, where he burst onto the screen in a long list of different characters and became a celebrity in Israel.
Hosting followed. On Channel 2 he fronted his own Friday night entertainment show built around celebrity interviews; it later moved to Saturday nights and made more room for comedy sketches. His best-known programme, the night show Yatzpan, ran on Channel 3 from 2001 to 2006 and earned him many awards, and he then went back to Channel 2 with another night show of his own, Shalom and Good Evening.
Acting never stopped entirely: his film credits also include Max VeMorris and Chain of Command, and on stage he has appeared in children's musicals and in comedy shows alongside Meir Suissa.
